CHE: RISE & FALL

Che: Rise and Fall is an intimate and visually arresting documentary, filmed entirely in Cuba during the solemn repatriation of Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s remains from Bolivia to their final resting place in Santa Clara. Against the backdrop of this historic moment, the film unearths powerful first-person testimonies from those who fought alongside Guevara in the Sierra Maestra, the Congo, and Bolivia—voices long overshadowed by myth and propaganda.

At the heart of the documentary is the poignant account of Alberto Granado, Guevara’s companion on the legendary motorcycle journey that began in Argentina and shaped the revolutionary spirit of the man who would become an icon. Through archival footage, personal reflections, and rare interviews, Che: Rise and Fall constructs a nuanced portrait of the idealist, the soldier, and the friend. It captures the rise of a man who came to embody rebellion and justice for millions, and the tragic descent that ended in the jungles of Bolivia, where ideals clashed with harsh realities.  More than a chronicle, the film is a meditation on memory, brotherhood, and the enduring power of a legacy forged in fire and sacrifice.
